Ways to take care of your credit card and avoid scams

A credit card is one of the easiest things to rob money from. Once a con artist gets it in their hands, they can use it to charge purchases without your consent. This is especially true if your signature is easily forged. But avoiding scams is really easy as long as you follow a few simple rules. Here are they.

1. Keep it inside Do not bring out your credit card unless you are asked to by a cashier when making a purchase. Without the item on sight and without some kind of receipt on sight, don't bring it out. People can take advantage of this by distracting you and taking it. Because it is just a small card and even very slim, it can easily fall off from your fingers and get lost.

2. Check it. It is a good habit to constantly check your credit card to see if it is still inside your bag or wallet. There are some con artists or robbers who only get the card inside the wallet and then give back your wallet. With you not knowing that your card got lost, they can easily use the card without you ever reporting it. So constantly, check your credit card to see if it is still intact. At least, whether you left it somewhere or lost it, you will be able to notify the company that it is lost.

3. Know your purchases Some people do not bother to check the purchases that were charged into their account. When they get their monthly statement, they immediately assume that everything is in order. This is good if the bank was not able to charge one account but what if they charged you an account by mistake? To avoid paying for purchases that you did not make, try to write down your purchases when you get home.

If however this is a problem for you, try to put all your receipts in one place and then get them out if the statement comes.
