Ways to avoid becoming a scam victim Scams are everywhere and victims are everywhere. When you think about it, it is the fault of victims why they were robbed of their money. They did not think clearly and just trusted others blindly. Unfortunately for them, they trusted the wrong people. But there are actually ways to avoid becoming a scam victim. Here are some of them. 1. Don't be impulsive
Some scam artists will pressure you to buy from them or to pay for a service that they are offering right there and then. To do this, they will often issue an ultimatum, telling you that either you use the product now and get something or get nothing at all. Some people will succumb to pressure and pay even if the idea is not entirely sold to them. Don't fall prey to this technique. Scam artists do this all the time. If this was done to you, walk the other way and tell them that you are not interested. If however, you feel that the offer has merit. Tell them that you will think about it and will just get their number. Don't give your number! If they are a legitimate business, they will wait. Take your time and think about your decision. Often, when you have taken the time to think, and you are not in the situation, you will clearly see what you have missed the first time the idea was presented to you. Doubts and questions will immediately resurface. 2. Do not doubt your doubts.
It is good to go into a business situation with a lot of doubts and then play an active role to removing those doubts than to come into the dealing with a rose colored glasses. People who trust easily and believe what they are told are prime targets for con artists because frankly they don't need to do much convincing. These people will surely agree. In these kinds of situations, it is good to have some kind of doubt. Idealism can work to your disadvantage if you are faced with a flaw that you refuse to see. 3. Too good to be true, usually is.
One rule in avoiding scams is to study the service and the offer. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. After all, if it is such a great buy, why are they wasting their time convincing you? If they are that good, people will come to them and not the other way around.
